Prayer Matters is published every Tuesday.

Jason & Karen Griffiths, (Australia, DPG Day 11)

We were privileged to be at a recent gathering in the PNG Eastern Highlands where there was a celebration of some of the recent publications, recordings and videos of Scripture released in the past 2 years. There are still 209 languages that need translation work to begin. Please pray with us that God will continue to raise up people from within the communities who still need Bible translation who are willing to be part of this ministry of enabling access to God’s Word in languages they understand best. Also, Karen is working on logistics for a big SIL meeting in Bangkok in July and possibly another large meeting in August. Jason is working with one of the SIL groups on next steps in a difficult situation, please pray for grace and wisdom.

Farid & Parila Qurbanpur, (Australia, DPG Day 14)

At the beginning of this year, OM International asked us to expand our ministry and now we have joined a worldwide team, part time. Parila phones Afghan women and I contact Afghan men who are listening to Christian radio or TV programs and have questions, so we can answer, or to ask about their lives, to share the Gospel of Jesus and to pray with them. At present they live in Iran, Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan. Pray as Parila still seeks to reach ladies through the salon and I share in the community.

Ben & Alice Warren, (France, DPG Day 17)

We just spent a long weekend with teammates from the house church that we will be joining from July. From this visit, we decided on the town where we will work. Please pray that we can find a suitable house to rent and are able to move by July 16th when our current lease is up. PRAISE, God provided the rest of the money we needed as a one-off payment for Ben’s extra course of language school. Please pray we can enrol our kids in the local school before all student places are taken.

Carol Luttah, (PNG, DPG Day 21)

Please pray for grace as I host our AGM on Friday and Board meeting on Saturday in Port Moresby. Praise the Lord for His continued presence and peace as I battle discouragement in ministry. Pray for my pastor who is travelling from Nairobi today and to be in Port Moresby on Thursday. I am looking forward to her visit.

Ian & Leann Buckley, (Specialist, DPG Day 22)

Be praying for Biblical Church Leadership seminar planned in Sindhupalchok on 23rd May and 3 day Prophecy seminar (27th to 29th May). Still waiting on all signatures of landowners around the church block to be able to go ahead with church building. Kumar also needs the Mayor's signature and he is hard to pin down!

Kevin Dyer, (Specialist, DPG Day 23)

Bright Hope update – The high school girls’ house in Zambia is finished and these girls will be safe as a result as they start the new term. In Nantoot, Kenya, we have developed and irrigated 18 acres of land so local families can grow vegetables for themselves and sell some for income. Pray as the Word goes out in Bolivia and Uganda.

Noela Elvery, (Specialist, DPG Day 23)

Following the advice of our Congolese workers we advised sponsors of the orphaned children that support would be phased out in June 2024.  with the lack of strong Christian leadership and mostly non-Christian teachers, there is no assurance that the children will continue to receive a Christian education.  We concur with our Congolese friends that it is the right time for us to withdraw from the Manzali projects. Please PRAY for: Provision for Acira & Berocan as they relocate in Bunia and have access to medical help especially to face the challenges of Parkinson disease. For children, now adults, who were sponsored through Manzali school that they will continue in their Christian faith. Way Alege – who has the oversight of the Komanda projects (also Department head at Bunia Christian University and local church elder). Shalom (eldest son of Way)– as he negotiates with Army and Humanitarian Aid agencies.

Tess, (Restricted Access, DPG Day 29)

This week my housemate and I met a Turkish lady in our elevator who has moved here with her husband. As Turkish ladies do, she invited us to her house for tea, and while we were chatting it came out that we would be attending a Turkish Protestant Church. She responded immediately with 'Maybe I will come with you'. So she has cancelled her appointments and will come with us to church. Praise God!! Please be praying.

Nara, (Restricted Access, DPG Day 30)

We manage to find one contact for fellowship located in CC’s city, hope God will establish it, but it’s quiet hard due to the suspicion everywhere resulted from crackdown. Praise God for sending a brother (located outside the country whom CC met a few months ago) to call CC after a very strong prompting from the HS to reach out to her. CC was greatly encouraged by this. I have spoken with a few leaders of larger congregations, but still yet to hear back for any partnership or opportunity to share my work. I’m still quite far from reaching the financial goal to make long term return sustainable. Please pray for meaningful connections, which takes time in order for real support to be established.

AMT MISSION4LL

Please pray for these meetings that will take place around the country. We are praying for a renewed interest in missions, that many people will be challenged and encouraged by the international speakers as well as our AMT missionaries who will be represented there. Please encourage your young people to come on the Friday night gathering. Please pray for God’s heart for mission to be embraced. Thank you to all our faithful prayer warriors around the country. Friday night meetings commence at 6pm with coffee and mingling with our missionaries. Saturday meetings commence at 1pm. A light meal will be provided on Saturday night.
